    ORCHARD PARK CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT

    Notice is hereby given that the Board of Education of the Orchard Park Central School District, 2240 Southwestern Boulevard, West Seneca, Erie County, New York, 14224, herein called the Owner will receive sealed proposals until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 19, 2019, at the District Administration Building Board Room for the following Work:

     

    1. Contract #100 – GENERAL WORK (Orchard Park Senior High School, Orchard Park Middle School, Eggert Road Elementary School, Ellicott Road Elementary School, South Davis Elementary School and Windom Elementary School).
    2. Contract #102 – ROOFING WORK (Windom Elementary School).
    3. Contract #103 – MASONRY WORK (Orchard Park Middle School and Windom Elementary School).
    4. Contract #104 – PLUMBING WORK (Orchard Park Senior High School, Orchard Park Middle School, South Davis Elementary School and Windom Elementary School).
    5. Contract #105 – HVAC WORK (Orchard Park Senior High School, Orchard Park Middle School, Eggert Road Elementary School, Ellicott Road Elementary School, South Davis Elementary School and Windom Elementary School).
    6. Contract #106 – ELECTRICAL WORK (Orchard Park Senior High School, Orchard Park Middle School, Eggert Road Elementary School, Ellicott Road Elementary School, South Davis Elementary School and Windom Elementary School).

    Notice is hereby given that the Board of Education of the Orchard Park Central School District, 2240 Southwestern Boulevard, West Seneca, Erie County, New York, 14224, herein called the Owner will receive sealed proposals until 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 19, 2019, at the District Administration Building Board Room for the following Work:

     

    1. Contract #101 – ROOFING WORK (Orchard Park Middle School).

    The proposals will be at these dates, times, and places publicly opened and read.  All work shall be done in accordance with drawings and specifications prepared by Gordon W. Jones Associates, Architects, P.C., 5757 Main Street, Williamsville, New York, 14221-5519.  All bidders shall be expected to keep bid prices firm for 45 days from the date of bid opening, during which time the Owner will be able to award the contracts.  If the District publicly announces that Schools are closed due to a weather-related event or other emergency on November 19, 2019 at any time prior to 2:00 p.m., this also includes all administrative offices, therefore the date and time of the bid submission deadline and the opening of bids shall be advanced to 2:00 p.m. on the next successive date on which the District’s administrative offices are open for business.

    Plans and specifications are available to Prime Contractors and Sub-Contractors on Monday, October 21, 2019. Hardcopies of the Plans and specifications are available from AVALON DOCUMENT SERVICES for a deposit of $100.00 per set.  Checks are to be made payable to the ORCHARD PARK CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT. Construction Documents are available electronically on a CD for a non-refundable charge of $25.00 at AVALON DOCUMENT SERVICES. If the Contractor wishes to have the bid documents shipped to their office, the contractor must provide their Federal Express (or) UPS account number with their deposit check and AVALON DOCUMENT SERVICES will ship the drawings & specifications to the bidding contractor at their expense.

    The deposit will be refunded to all Prime Contractor Bidders "ONLY" that return the drawings and specifications in good, unmarked condition within ten (10) working days after the bid opening.  Prime Contractors who are non-bidders, returning complete sets in good, unmarked condition within the above time limit will be refunded $50.00.  Prime Contractors who are non-bidders returning complete sets in good unmarked condition at least four (4) calendar days before the bid opening will be refunded the full deposit amount.  No part of the deposit will be refunded for partial or damaged sets of the drawings and specifications.

    The proposals will be made as specified by the Architect in the Information for Bidders and will include a Certified Check or a Bid Bond in an amount of not less than 10% of the Base Bid.  The Bid Bond will state that the Bidder will enter into the Contract if awarded by the Owner and execute further security for the faithful performance of the Contract as required by the Owner.

    Bidders will note the required conditions of employment and the minimum New York State Labor Department prevailing wage rates to be paid under the contract. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to advertise anew, and to award a contract for the whole or such portion of the work as it determines to be in the best interest of the District.

    There will be a Pre-Bid Conference and Contractor walk-thru on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at the Orchard Park Middle School.  All bidders are urged to attend.  Bidders shall meet in the Auditorium Lobby on the second floor.
