A Little About Me:
I am so excited to be back at Eggert Elementary!
I started my career after graduating from St. Bonaventure University as a Preschool Director for the Southtowns YMCA and later the Executive Director of the Lancaster YMCA where I directed many Preschools throughout the Buffalo-Niagara region, including the UPK at Lakeshore and Orchard Park. I then taught a Second Grade Integrated Co-Teaching Class at the Charter School for Applied Technologies for three years before taking a little time to stay home with my two daughters and earn my Masters in Curriculum Development and Technology in Education from SUNY Albany. I re-started my career and was honored to substitute mainly at Eggert Elementary for three years where I was inspired to go back to school for a second Masters in Special Education. I left Eggert Elementary to teach a Grades 3-5 Life Skills class in Lakeshore Central and I am thrilled to return home to Eggert this year!
I live in Orchard Park with my husband and our daughters and our newly adopted puppy! I have a love for coffee (any coffee), softball, Jim Henson, picking up sea glass on the beach, modern art, London, playing piano, rabbits, Roald Dahl, the colors cranberry and yellow, and being with my family. Oh, and I know you are wondering how to say my last name!! (FOO-Ni–JELLO) 😊
A Little About Our Room:
Our classroom is founded on showing respect, verbalizing needs, and demonstrating friendship. Our academics, our schedule, and our yearly scope and sequence rotate around a classroom environment that shows repect and kindness towards eachother, our school, and the community. We take time for positive reinforcement, motivation, and encouragement throughout the day to maintain a positive learning atmosphere for all.
Due to our schedule, it is easiest for me to respond via e-mail, through Seesaw, and through written notes home in your child’s daily communication folder.
