June 3, 2020 Letter to Families

  • Dear Orchard Park Families;

     The events over the past week, nationally and locally, have saddened me greatly - as a superintendent, a father, a community member and as a citizen.

    Although we have been discussing equity and tolerance as a district, this is an opportunity for us to reinforce our resolve with our children and each other at this critical time.  We can and must do better.

    Orchard Park’s Mission Statement:

    The Orchard Park Central School District, in partnership with families and community, will prepare our students to:

    • Achieve their fullest potential
    • Develop critical thinking, creativity, and character
    • Become healthy, lifelong learners
    • Be responsible and contributing members of an ever-changing and global society

    With schools being the heart of a community, I’d ask that you reach out to us if you or someone you know is in need at this challenging time.  We are committed to supporting all of our families, and I look forward to continuing our efforts with you.

    Sincerely,

    Matthew McGarrity,
    Superintendent of Schools
