    Below are the official vote results of the Orchard Park Central School District Annual School Vote and Election.

    The May 21, 2024, Orchard Park Central School Vote results are:

    Property Purchase Passed:

    Yes Votes: 896

May 21, 2024 Budget & Vote Information

  • Proposition I: 2024-25 Operating Budget - $122,626,680

    • Supporting Students & Safety Initiatives
      • Increased safety by adding two additional School Related Officers (SRO).  An SRO will be assigned to each of our school buildings.  
      • Continues advancing inclusive programming and academic programming (Pre-K - 12).
      • Supports all current student programs and activities
    • Fiscally Responsible
      • Third lowest budget-to-budget increase in 18 years.
      • A balanced operating budget that does not exceed the tax cap levy requirements (3.18%)
    (2024-25 Proposed Budget Book and Legal Notice attached below.  The Public Hearing on the 2024-25 Budget will be held on May 7, 2024 in the Orchard Park Middle School and live streamed on the District Website).

    Proposition II: Purchase of Property - 75 Bank Street, Orchard Park- $1,500,000
    (Use of capital reserves funding to purchase property)

    Solution to long-range plan for buildings and grounds department - property purchase will come from the capital project reserve fund  which can only be used for capital purchase or repairs

    • Will house the Orchard Park Family Solutions Center (opened in 2022 with assistance from the town to temporarily house the program in town facilities)
    • In 2023 OP Family Solutions Center relocated to 75 Bank Street
    • Benefits of Purchasing the Property
      • No need to rent from outside facilities for storage or other needs
      • Move current office from Freeman Road to Bank Street
      • Move current grounds department from old bus garage to Bank Street
      • Estimated yearly savings of $204,000
      • No new taxes will be raised or levied by the purchase

    Proposition III: Purchase and Financing of Buses, Related Equipment and Supplies - $1,212,000

    • Purchase of four (4) seventy-seven (77) passenger school buses (at an estimated maximum cost of $186,000 each) and four (4) thirty-three (33) passenger school buses at an estimated maximum cost of $117,000 each.  
    • NYS Transportation Aid funds will be applied - no new taxes will be raised or levied.

    Election of Two (2) Trustees to the Board of Education

    Voters will be electing two trustees to the Orchard Park Central School District Board of Education. The terms of Mr. Ryan Cimo and Mrs. Karen Srienawski will expire on June 30, 2024. There are two candidates running for the two seats.  They are:
    1A  Karen Sreniawski
    2A  Ty Romanello.  

    Voting Location, Date, Time & Other Information
    Voting will take place on May 21, 2024 in the Gymnasium of the Orchard Park High School from 7 am until 9 pm.  Please use the Freeman Road entrance to the high school for safety reasons and access to the voting area (gym).  Please remember to bring proof of residency, i.e. driver's license.  Education Law Section 2018-cThe Erie County Board of Elections will be providing school districts with electronic poll books.   You will be able to sign in at any table once you enter the polling place.  Please have your ID (i.e. driver’s license or voter registration) ready for the poll workers. 


    The District shall require all persons intending to vote at any School District meeting or election for which registration is not required to provide one form of proof of residency  in accordance with NYS Education Law Section 2018-c and OPCSD Policy #1630.

    Absentee Ballots and Early Mail Voter Ballots

    If you will be unable to vote in person on the date of the election because you will be out of the county or for other valid reasons, or would prefer to vote as an early mail voter, an absentee ballot / early mail voter application is attached below.   You may also contact the District Clerk by calling 716-209-6280 or visiting the District Clerk's office at the Orchard Park Central School District Offices located at 2240 Southwestern Blvd., West Seneca, NY between the hours of 7am-4pm.  Absentee ballot / early mail voter applications are due back to the District Clerk no later than 7 days prior to the election if the ballot is to be mailed.

    Military voters, as defined in section 122.2(f) of the commissioner’s regulation, who are qualified voters of the District may apply for a military ballot by requesting an application from the District Clerk or by downloading the attached application below.  Completed applications for military ballots must be received by the District Clerk no later than 5:00 PM on April 26, 2024. The military voter may designate a preference to receive the application by mail, fax or email.

    Qualified Voter

    Definition of a Qualified Voter - A qualified voter is a person who is:

    (1) a citizen of the United States;
    (2) eighteen years of age;
    (3) a resident of the school district for at least 30 days prior to the vote;
    (4) not otherwise prohibited from voting pursuant to Election Law § 5-106.
