Public Access to Records
Access to records of the Orchard Park Central School District shall be consistent with the rules and regulations established by the State Committee on Open Government and shall comply with all the requirements of the New York State Public Officers Law Section 84.
There is a designated official to serve as records access clerk and to coordinate such requests that are in keeping with these provisions. Any individual denied access to eligible records may appeal such denial in writing to the District Superintendent or his/her designee in accordance with established procedures and regulations.
Regulations and procedures pertaining to accessing District records shall be as indicated in the School District Administrative Manual, and shall also be kept on public file in the Office of the Records Access Officer. The Districts Records Access Officer is Dr. Dean Ramirez.
Requests for Records via E-mail
In response to a request for access to records under FOIL, if any or all of the records required to be disclosed are maintained electronically and the Orchard Park Central School District has reasonable means to retrieve such electronic records, the Orchard Park Central School District will provide the records in an electronic format upon request. Orchard Park Central School District shall accept requests for records submitted in the form of electronic mail and respond to such requests by electronic mail using the forms supplied by the Orchard Park Central School District. When the Orchard Park Central School District maintains requested records electronically, the response shall inform the requester that the records are accessible in an electronic format, if they prefer, and in printed form either on paper or other information storage medium.
The Orchard Park Central School District shall respond to a request within five (5) business days of the receipt of a request. Should all or part of the request need to be denied, the Orchard Park Central School District shall respond in the manner set forth by the rules and regulations stipulated by the Committee on Open Government.
