General Chemistry introduces fundamental principles of Chemistry and is designed for non-science majors. The major topics studied include classification of matter, separation of mixtures, atomic theory, the Periodic Table, chemical bonding, chemical naming, gases, acids and bases, nuclear chemistry and chemical reactions. As time permits, other topics of study may include organic chemistry, chemistry of foods, forensic chemistry or environmental chemistry. Laboratory experiences related to the topics of study are an integral part of the course and are incorporated into regular class time.

- Quiz on properties of Acids and Bases: Thursday, April 20th
- Quiz on pH and indicators: Wednesday, April 26th
- Acid/Base Lab Report due: Thursday, April 27th
- Unit Test: Friday, April 28th
