This is my fourteenth year teaching for the Orchard Park schools. I am very fortunate to be able to work in such a wonderful place, with a great staff and wonderful children! For the first five years I was Eggert's Spectrum Catalyst, followed by 8 years in grade 5. Previous to coming to Orchard Park, I taught for a year in the KenTon schools as a Gifted & Talented Specialist. Before that, I taught computers & technology in the Eden schools. I am so excited to be working in AIS to support our learners in grades 3-5!
I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from SUNY Fredonia. My concentration area was Biology, and I earned certification to teach General Science and Biology at the middle school and high school levels also.
I earned my Master's Degree in Advanced Inclusive Processes from St. Bonaventure University. This program allowed me to become certified in the Special Education field as well as in Gifted & Talented.
My family consists of myself, my husband, and our two boys. Luke, the older one, is an amazing gymnast. He works very hard now coaches younger gymnasts! Ben, the younger one, is such a talented kid! He started to follow his brother's footsteps and began training as a gymnast too! He also participated in 4 sports in highschool! It seems like we lived at the gym. Both boys are now grown and off to college. Luke is still competing as a collegiate gymnast at Springfield College, in Massachusettes. Ben started his freshman year at SUNY Geneseo and is on the dive team. I couldn't be more proud of them both!
My favorite things are hiking & camping, travelling, music & concerts, acting & singing, and cooking (and eating!). I have performed with both the Springville Players and the Aurora Players. Most recently, I was in the Springville Players production of "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" as Logainne Schwartzandgrubiennere.
