Dear Parents and Guardians of 8th-graders:
Last week, we were able to recognize all of our 8th-graders on their accomplishments this year and congratulate them on a successful middle school career. The last 15 months have been unprecedented, challenging at times, and rewarding. Your children have shown that they can learn remotely, in a hybrid model, and a full in-person model. Throughout this entire time, they have shown an immense amount of resiliency, flexibility, and perseverance. Our entire school community is so proud of each and every one of them for what you’ve accomplished in the classroom, on the field, on the stage, and in the community. We look forward to seeing what they will accomplish in high school and beyond.
Due to restrictions on gatherings in the auditorium, we were unable to celebrate their accomplishments together as a group. In lieu of the traditional recognition ceremony, we have prepared a presentation to recognize their accomplishments.
In addition to the awards video, during the OPMS PTO sponsored lunch for the 8th-graders, the technology teachers used a drone to capture some footage of the event and prepared the video below. Thank you to the PTO for your support, donations, and time. We truly appreciate it!
We hope you and your child enjoy these videos.
