• Good Morning:

Each year as students apply for admission to a US Service Academy, they seek nominations from their Congressional Member. Congressman Chris Jacobs’ office is currently accepting applications for nominations from residents of the 27th Congressional District of New York.  As a member of the education community we ask that you please provide this information to your students.

Congressman Jacobs’ office will be holding a virtual Service Academy Information Night. Representatives from each of the service academies will brief attendees on the nomination process, provide information on the academies, and be available to answer any questions. Details on the information can be found below. Please call one of our district offices to RSVP and be provided with the virtual meeting link.

    6:00pm

Please call one of our district offices to RSVP at 716-634-2324 or 585-519-4002.

The honor of attending a service academy comes with the obligation and commitment to serve in the military for a minimum of five years upon graduation.  Members of Congress may nominate candidates for appointment to four of the five U.S. service academies: U.S. Military Academy (USMA), West Point, NY; the U.S. Naval Academy (USNA), Annapolis, MD; the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA), Colorado Springs, CO; and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA), Kings Point, NY. The fifth service academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy (USCGA), New London, CT, does not require a congressional nomination for appointment.

Information for what is required to apply can be found on the Congressman’s website at jacobs.house.gov/services or by calling one of the district offices.  Prospective applicants should request to speak with myself, Michael Hicks, the Congressman’s Service Academy Coordinator.

    Best,
