A Message From the Principal

    Welcome to Ellicott Elementary School!

Education is a lifelong learning process that provides the advancement of knowledge, but more importantly, it can foster leadership skills such as, perseverance, creativity, optimism, resiliency and empathy. Currently, Ellicott Elementary educates approximately 600 students who are taught and cared for by a staff of more than 80 members.  These staff members strive to create a nurturing environment where high expectations are the norm and character development, along with a love of learning are prioritized.  In addition to strong academics in math, science, social studies, and technology, our students receive an education that teaches skills in art, music, physical education, and instrumental lessons.  We incorporate Reader’s Workshop and responsive teaching techniques to meet the needs of each student and also encourage a community of reflective readers.  Our students move from “learning to read” to “reading to learn”.

Along with the aforementioned, we have a vibrant PTO (Parent Teacher’s Organization) that reinforces our school’s mission and goals and encourages parent involvement and support.

Please navigate our web-site to learn more about Ellicott, a school that I am honored to lead.
