Students in the Orchard Park High School Educational Outreach Club recently partnered with Dignity Grows, a program of the Buffalo Jewish Federation, to assemble feminine care packages to benefit the Orchard Park Family Solutions Center.
The Orchard Park Central School District Athletic Department is seeking nominations for the 2024 Hall of Fame class. Selected recipients will be inducted at a ceremony during Homecoming 2024. The nominees will take part in the 2024 Homecoming parade and be recognized during half-time at the Homecoming football game. If you feel there is an athlete, coach or member of the support staff personnel you would like to nominate please do so by April 1, 2024. Visit www.opschools.org/athletics, click the “Hall of Fame” tab and you can either submit your nomination there online or you can print it out and send it in to the Athletics Office. For any questions regarding a nomination please call the Athletics Office at 209-6208. Those nominated will be reviewed for current good standing within their respective community and then asked to complete a more detailed resume to be returned for further consideration. On Tuesday, October 24, the OPHS Business Department “rang the bell” to officially launch Quaker Wall Street, the new stock ticker displayed in the first floor hallway of the high school.

Mrs. Feeley's COPS class (Crime or Punishment in Society) recently toured the NY State Unified Court System in downtown Buffalo. Students viewed the City Court Lockup Facility and heard from the Case Manager of the DWI court. The class also viewed Criminal Arraignments and visited Family Court. Judges, Court Officers, Court Reporters, and Attorneys all shared information about their legal careers and answered student questions. It was an educational and exciting day!
The Orchard Park Central School District, along with Erie 2 BOCES, has joined with Sandy Hook Promise to deploy an anonymous reporting system as an additional layer to our school district safety plan. Sandy Hook Promise (SHP) is a national nonprofit organization with a mission to end school shootings and create a culture change that prevents violence and other harmful acts that hurt children. Through its life-saving, evidence-informed Know the Signs prevention programs, SHP educates and empowers youth and adults to recognize, intervene, and get help for individuals who may be socially isolated and/or at risk of hurting themselves or others.
