OPHS Tackles the Buffalo Bills Huddle for Hunger Challenge

In the fall of 2024, Orchard Park High School was named the winner of the Buffalo Bills’ Huddle for Hunger High School Challenge, a regional fundraiser benefiting FeedMore WNY and sponsored by Wegmans. The challenge, which promotes food donations and school spirit, saw OPHS students rally around a creative and ambitious campaign called “Pack Principal Pafk’s Office.”

Within the first week and a half of school, OPHS students collected over 1,000 pounds of food and delivered donations directly into Principal Brandon Pafk’s office, with the goal of making his workspace completely unusable. The daily drop-offs transformed the office into a wall-to-wall donation zone, showcasing the students' drive to support their community.

The competition was judged based on social media presence, the total amount of food collected, and school spirit during the delivery. Orchard Park stood out with decorated buses, themed attire, party poppers, and entrance music—all highlighting the energy and pride behind the effort.

As a reward for winning, STAP Comm and OPHS were treated to a special visit from the Buffalo Bills. The event featured a Family Feud-style game show between Bills players and students, followed by a walk-through of the building with the players. Billy Buffalo, the team’s in-house DJs, and several Bills players joined the celebration, making it an unforgettable experience for the entire school community.

The region-wide challenge collected over 31,000 pounds of food to support our WNY neighbors, and we are so proud to be part of this deserving cause.
