OPHS Career Internship Program Embraces New Normal
Recently, students enrolled in Mrs. Casto’s Career Exploration Internship Program at Orchard Park High School had the opportunity to hear from some of our local business leaders on relevant workplace topics.
Dr. Michael Downs, owner of Defensive Arts Dojo in Hamburg, spoke with students about leadership and its importance in the workplace. He highlighted his own experiences and shared with students how to make your own path in life.
Susanne Kelley, owner of Sienna Environmental Technologies in Buffalo, spoke with students about professional networking, and how to best develop relationships to drive your career and business.
Dave Lilleck, Assistant Superintendent for Pupil & Personnel Services, shared information on conflict resolution and the laws related to workplace harassment. Students learned how best to approach situations that may impact them in college and/or their careers.
The speakers embraced the “new normal” by speaking with students virtually via recorded Google Meets. We are so thankful to our local business leaders for their continued support of our students and programming!
