In May the OPMS Girls Who Code Club hosted Orchard Park Girl Scout Troop # 31181 to teach them about coding and engineering concepts. Girls Who Code is an after school club that is built on the foundation of bridging the gender gap in the computer science and technology industries by empowering young women to connect to coding through community. Club members were given the task to find a project within their community and bring it to life, while creating a web page to inform others of their work. The OPMS girls decided that they would bring in a local Brownie troop to teach them about coding, robotics, vinyl cutting, and the power of teamwork.
